JAKS/Porsche Centre Chester Stages Rally 9th/10th March 2007
Days before the rally there was a lot of heavy rain, but cleared up on
the Friday, in fact the sun was out.
Friday night went well as we had done a good recce and knew the stages
quite well. We noticed when driving through stage three there was no fifth
gear, but we were not all that bothered because after that stage we had
a service.
It was during that stage we were left with only third and fourth gear,
which was interesting round a tight chicane.We made it back to the service
area and found that the gear linkage had broke. We soon repaired it by
wrapping cable ties round the linkage to keep it in place for the rest
of the rally. 
Saturday was sunny and dry and we were heading towards Jurby airfield
for the service area, were we were about to start the eight stages of
Saturday’s leg two.
Everything was going well, we were holding on to third in class but also
keeping an eye on everybody else. The only drama we had was on stage eleven
at druidale were we came over a jump, landed wrong and ended up driving
on the grass for a short distance, luckily we were able to get back on
the road without loosing to much time. A good weekends rallying and our
best result so far.
